Released Dolphins star leaves parting message after signing with rival

The Miami Dolphins have made several big moves this offseason, but moving on from linebacker Bradley Chubb at the start of the new league year was one of the most impactful.

Chubb spent that last four years with the Dolphins, appearing in 49 games and recording 133 tackles, 54 quarterback hits, 22 sacks, nine forced fumbles, three fumbles recovered and two passes defensed.

However, quickly after his release, he signed a three-year deal with the division rival Buffalo Bills, and while he'll be playing for another AFC East team in 2026, he wanted to leave the Dolphins and their fans with a parting message.

"I will first of all say, man, it's not personal at all. It's not personal at all," Chubb said on Terron Armstead's podcast. "I'm not going up there to spite Miami and do all this. It just was the best opportunity presented to me. I mentioned to them, man, I love y'all. Y'all took me in when, like I said, I had a lot of hate in my heart, and I had a lot of frustration going to a new city and doing this and having to pick up and move. But, y'all welcomed me in.

"Unfortunately, we couldn't get over that 25-year hump of not winning a playoff game, but we damn sure tried. And we had the guys in the locker room who gave it all each and every day. I was one of them. I tried to be one of them each and every day. Unfortunately, it didn't work out, but it's not the end of my career. I got three years in Buffalo. I could finish it out with the Dolphins. I mean, I'm not trying to burn no bridges, but, you know, it's love, man. It's love for sure."

Now, Chubb will face the Dolphins twice this year. How will he go into those matchups?

"It's hard, man, because it's the bond I built with those guys. especially this past season, man," Chubb said. "Like I said, coming back us not being the best that we could have been. We had to really do like this bro to like not have, you've been in the locker room, bro. When you start losing, it gets like this quick. Bonds I had made with Jordyn Brooks with Zach (Sieler), the whole D-line, all those young guys they got in there, Chop (Robinson) these are gonna be my brothers for life.

"So, it's not gonna be F them, but all the new that's in there, I'm not a part of that. I haven't been a part of that, so I could send a little message to them, but my brothers they always have my love. The other side that I ain't got nothing to do with, I don't rock with it."

Chubb clearly has some feelings toward the new regime, so he's going to give it all to show the Dolphins that they made a mistake in moving on from him this offseason. Someone better protect Malik Willis in those two games.
