NFL draft injury analysis: Jake Slaughter, C - Florida

· Yahoo Sports

With the free agent signing of Cade Mays at center, the Lions probably won't consider that position until the mid-rounds of the draft at the earliest. That means Jake Slaughter might be gone by that time. Slaughter does have a history of a recent shoulder surgery which could affect his draft stock slightly.

Here is the excerpt of my medical report on Slaughter:

Jake Slaughter, C (23) - Florida

Projected round 2-3. #78 on Jeff Risdon board Feb 19.

Concern level 4/10

Slaughter has been extraordinarily reliable in his college career. However, he did have shoulder surgery prior to his final season. It’s reassuring that there is a full season of tape after the surgery though.

His slightly older age raises the concern level by a notch.
