Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly has predicted the regular-season record for each MLB team, and when it comes to the Boston Red Sox, Kelly believes Boston will finish with an 88-74 record.

"On one hand, it's disappointing that the Red Sox didn't sign a bigger bat this winter, whether it would have been bringing back Alex Bregman or landing one of Alonso or Kyle Schwarber," Kelly wrote on Monday.
"Willson Contreras and Caleb Durbin are nice pickups, but it felt like a bigger splash around Roman Anthony and Wilyer Abreu was in order."
"On the other hand, chief baseball officer Craig Breslow drastically improved the starting rotation by trading for Sonny Gray and signing Ranger Suárez," Kelly continued. "They'll slot in behind Garrett Crochet, last year's AL Cy Young Award runner-up. Boston has a starting rotation built for the postseason, and then can hand things over to a bullpen led by Aroldis Chapman and Garrett Whitlock."
"Having lost both Rafael Devers and Bregman in the last calendar year, it feels like Boston needs more thump in the middle of their order," Kelly added. "But this is still a talented lineup and an excellent pitching staff, that should help Alex Cora and company reach the postseason in some form."
Boston will begin its season on Thursday in Cincinnati, with Crochet on the bump.
