Former Bears CB Nahshon Wright reacts to signing with Jets

The Chicago Bears will see another key member of their 2025 season depart from the team this offseason, as cornerback Nahshon Wright has agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million.

Wright was one of the best stories of the 2025 season, not just for the Chicago Bears but across the entire NFL as he had a career year while playing on a one-year contract, and now heads to a franchise that desperately needs his style of play.

The Jets became the first team in NFL history to go an entire season without recording an interception on defense during the 2025 season, and Wright himself had five of them last season, as well as three fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.

Following the news of his new contract being reported, Wright had a very simple reaction to news, taking to social media to share a peace sign emoji about his departure. The Pro Bowl cornerback then followed it up with an enthusiastic greeting to the Jets and their fanbase, showing excitement for his new team.

Chicago benefitted greatly from Wright's lone season, which reunited him with his former defensive backs coach Al Harris, and everyone saw the payoff. After trading away Sauce Gardner in 2025, the Jets had a pressing need for high-level cornerback play, and Wright will have the opportunity to build off last year's impressive season on a relatively considerable deal.
