Steelers mock draft update at the start of free agency

· Yahoo Sports

It only took one day for the Pittsburgh Steelers to fill three significant roster needs. Pittsburgh landed a starting cornerback, running back and wide receiver and solidified three depth charts. This prompted us to go back and completely re-evaluate our Steelers' needs for the 2026 NFL draft.

With that, we've updated our four-round mock draft, and wow, are there some big changes.

Visit goldparty.lat for more information.

First round - DT Caleb Banks - Florida

Banks has been a fast riser this offseason, and with his physical traits and high ceiling, is the ideal player to eventually replace Cameron Heyward.

Second round - IOL Sam Hecht - Kansas State

Hecht was primary center at Kansas State but his agility and footwork are good enough he could absolutely transition to the starting role at guard as well.

Third round - S Kamari Ramsey - USC

Ramsey is a super versatile defensive back who USC used as both safety spots as well as a nickel cornerback. He's an immediate rotational player with starter potential.

Third round - WR Zachariah Branch - Georgia

With Metcalf and Pittman Jr. on the outside, we'd love to see what the agile and elusive Branch can do in the slot and on gadget plays where he can work in space.

Third round - CB Tacario Davis - Washington

As much as we love the combo of Joey Porter Jr. and Jamel Dean on the outside, it was impossible to pass up on Davis here as another big, athletic boundary cornerback.

Fourth round - Eli Stowers - Vanderbilt

Stowers is a classic move tight end who would be an excellent replacement for Jonnu Smith and give the Steelers a more pure receiving option in their two and three-tight end sets.

Fourth round - QB Garrett Nussmeier - LSU

We don't know who the Steelers are going to add in free agency yet, and they might add no one, so we take a flyer here on Nussmeier, who has a lot of great traits andis a player head coach Mike McCarthy knows well.
