Reporter unveils Khamzat Chimaev vs Sean Strickland date with bleak forecast

There has been a report that seems to have given away the date of Khamzat Chimaev’s first UFC title defence.

Chimaev took the middleweight belt from Dricus Du Plessis last August, putting together a strong five-round showing at UFC 319.
Since then, ‘Borz’ and Sean Strickland have been trading shots online, building up plenty of interest in a potential match-up.
Many fans expected their bout to land on the UFC White House card in June, but it now looks like Chimaev’s first defence could happen before then.

Photo by Geoff Stellfox/Getty ImagesAdam Zubayraev, a Russian sports reporter who is said to be close to Chimaev and his camp, posted on social media on Tuesday night, hinting that the Chimaev vs Strickland fight is planned for UFC 328.
The event will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Several other fights have already been confirmed for the card.
“Whoever is managing Strickland’s schedule needs to cancel all his podcast recordings after May 9 because you can’t talk into a mic with a wired shut jaw,” he wrote on X.
Zubayraev’s comment followed Strickland sharing a video from his recent dive weekend on Instagram.
Strickland captioned the video with: “It’s been a fun dive weekend but back to work. Terrorist to fight, belts to be won.”
After sharing his views on current global conflicts on X, the 35-year-old suggested this might be why he and Chimaev are not scheduled for the UFC Freedom 250, at the White House.
When asked about the Newark event in May, Strickland replied: “…..”
The divisive fighter has picked up momentum following his recent win over Anthony Hernandez in Houston. That performance may have been enough for him to earn a title shot.
Dana White has hinted that several events are set to be announced soon, so an official confirmation of the bout could come any day now.
