The New England Patriots may be considering the addition of several veteran pass rushers this offseason due to the uncertainty surrounding the return of pass rushers Harold Landry III and K'Lavon Chaisson.

If the Patriots are looking to secure an affordable pass rusher to fill either Landry’s or Chaisson’s role, the Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. might be a solid option.

Fowler just wrapped up his 10th NFL season, tallying three sacks and four tackles for loss over 17 games with the Dallas Cowboys. This brings his career total to 58.5 sacks and 74 tackles for loss.

The 31-year-old pass rusher's production may not seem outstanding, but he received a high mark from Pro Football Focus this past season. PFF ranked Fowler as the 21st-best edge rusher out of 115 players, giving him the 31st-best pass grade and the 33rd-best run defense grade.

Fowler could also come at a low cost, as Spotrac recently estimated his market value to be around $5.1 million per season. Signing Fowler could be a smart option for the Patriots, as it would allow them to offer him a one-year deal without committing long-term.

The NFL league year is set to kick off on March 11, and it will be interesting to see how the Patriots deal with tackling pass rushers.
