The MLB is through the first two weeks of the 2026 season. The season has seen hot starts from veterans and players entering the first few seasons of their careers. In the opening month of the season, it’s common for players to work their way into becoming locked in. However, as the months become warmer, players begin to perform at a higher level. Here are the top 10 third basemen rankings heading into week three.

1. Brendan Donovan, Seattle Mariners

2. Maikel Garcia, Kansas City Royals
Underrated, Garcia made a name for himself last season. He finished with career highs across the board. He’s a safe bet to take another leap in 2026.
3. Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers
Muncy has made a name for himself as one of the best hitters against right-handed pitching. He’s been limited to fewer than 110 games in back-to-back seasons. If he surpasses 110 games in 2026, he will reach 30+ home runs.
4. Carlos Correa, Houston Astros

5. Junior Caminero, Tampa Bay Rays
In his first full Major League season, Caminero took the league by storm. He finished with 45 home runs and 110 RBI. He will once again be the main source of power in Tampa Bay’s lineup,
6. Brady House, Washington Nationals
House had modest success in his 2025 rookie season. He showed glimpses of potential but suffered growing pains. He’s off to a hot start in 2026.
7. Matt Chapman, San Francisco Giants
Chapman has always possessed power, but he’s one of the streakiest hitters in baseball. He’s off to a quick start this season. The third baseman is looking to reach 20 home runs and 60 RBI for a third consecutive season with San Francisco.
8. Kazuma Okamoto, Toronto Blue Jays

9. Nolan Gorman, St. Louis Cardinals
Gorman has struggled to stay on the field following his breakout 2023 season. He’s failed to play in more than 111 games in back-to-back years. If he’s healthy, he can reach 30 home runs.
10. Alex Bregman, Chicago Cubs
Bregman joined Chicago after one season in Boston. He fills a glaring need at the hot corner for the Cubs. In 36 at-bats, Bregman has two home runs.
