AI makes the picks in latest Steelers three-round mock draft

· Yahoo Sports

The 2026 NFL Draft is only three weeks away and you can't swing a Lombardi Trophy without hitting a mock draft. So we decided to see what AI can do. We asked Google's Gemini AI to give us a three-round Pittsburgh Steelers mock draft and include commentary on the picks. And to be honest, after asking AI to create a seven-round mock for the Steelers and having it draft running back Kaleb Johnson in the third round when he was already on the team, expectations were low.

121Peter WoodsDLClemsonThe "successor to Cam Heyward" pick. Woods is a versatile, high-ceiling interior defender who can slide across the line. At 300+ lbs with elite twitch, he anchors the future of the defensive front.253Chris Brazzell IIWRTennesseeDespite adding Pittman Jr., the Steelers need a vertical threat to replace the departing depth. Brazzell is a massive target (6'5") who provides a different dimension to the Metcalf/Pittman duo.376Garrett NussmeierQBLSU(via DAL) With Rodgers nearing the end and the Mike McCarthy connection to the Nussmeier family, this is the perfect "Plan B." He has the arm talent to sit and learn for a year before taking the reins.385Tristan LeighOTClemsonThe Steelers have been heavily scouting Day 2 tackles. Leigh provides immediate competition at left tackle for Broderick Jones and solidifies the depth of an improving offensive line.399Kamari RamseySUSC(Comp) A high-IQ safety to pair with Minkah Fitzpatrick. Ramsey excels in sub-packages and adds the "positionless" versatility that the modern Steelers defense craves.

All in all, AI did a pretty solid job this time around. Peter Woods is a great player but I'm not sure how big of a need he fits. Getting Brazzell in the second round is a great pick and Tristen Leigh and Kamari Ramsey are both bargain picks who could contribute early.
