Did a Dion Dawkins trade between Bills and Dolphins really happen?

It's not yet noon on the east coast. And yet, April 1 has already clocked in as an entirely exhausting day.
April Fool's Day is perhaps at its most tedious in the sports world, where there were maybe five good jokes over the past century that now get run into the ground ad nauseam as fans everywhere realize their favorite teams and players are, in fact, not funny. That includes Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl tackle Dion Dawkins, who has thrown his hat into the ring with a low-effort classic. He's been traded to a division rival! He's leaving a perennial playoff team for one that hasn't won a postseason game in two decades!

No, Dion Dawkins wasn't traded to the Dolphins. Why would Buffalo do that? Why would a rebuilding Miami do that?
Ah, yeah, to protect Malik Willis, the new arrival at quarterback who has no one to throw to after the release of Tyreek Hill and trade of Jaylen Waddle.
OK, so the Dolphins were a solid, weird enough target to make it believable. Except it's still not very believable. That's a 3/10 April Fool's joke.
