Bayern Munich is usually an unforgiving, difficult environment that weeds out the players who cannot compete at the highest level of European football. If you cannot demonstrate your immense quality every week, you will likely not remain at the club for long. But it is also a club that takes care of its’ own.

This was proven yet again as Bayern renewed injured talents Younes Aitamer and Louis Richter until 2027, via the Bavarians’ official website. Both players’ contracts were set to expire in 2026, but they have suffered ACL injuries and are striving to return from them. Aitamer, who has been at the club for nearly 9 years now, has not played an official football match in nearly two years, while Richter, who has been at the club for around 12 years, was injured just a few weeks ago. Cutting them off now would have made it so very difficult for their careers to recover.

Instead, Bayern retains the duo, ensuring they get paid and continue to have easy access to modern medical equipment and recovery tools. Die Rekordmeister may be something of a shark tank, but it still takes care of its’ own.
