During his appearance on "Run It Back" on Thursday, Chandler Parsons had good news and bad news for Boston Celtics fans.

The good news is he thinks they'll win the Eastern Conference. The bad news is he thinks they'll lose the NBA Finals if they get there, regardless of their opponent.

"You look down the roster, everybody has really stepped up their game in Jayson Tatum's absence," Parsons said. "This team is solid, they're well-coached, they defend... I think they can get out of the East."

However, the Western Conference is considerably stronger and deeper than the Eastern Conference this year. The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs are probably the two best teams in basketball, and the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers aren't far behind.

The Celtics are 3-5 against those four teams and might get exposed over a seven-game series, especially if Jayson Tatum still isn't fully himself by then.

"I think the champs this year, no matter what, are coming out of the Western Conference," Parsons continued. "I think the West is so much more top-heavy than the Celtics. Anything can happen...but I don't think they can beat the Thunder four times in a seven-game series. I really don't. I think the champ comes out of the West for sure."

Sportsbooks agree with Parsons, giving the Thunder and Spurs better championship odds than Boston. They both have better records than the Celtics, too.

Boston just beat Oklahoma City on Wednesday, however, and match up well with the Thunder, so perhaps he's not giving them enough credit.
