· Yahoo Sports

Announced by the program Tuesday afternoon, Alabama women's basketball head coach Kristy Curry has accepted the same position with the South Florida Bulls, thus bringing an end to her time in Tuscaloosa.

Curry has been the head coach at Alabama dating back to the 2013, and recently concluded season No. 13 with the Crimson Tide. With the Crimson Tide, Curry compiled a combined 245-173 overall record while in Tuscaloosa, and led Alabama to five NCAA Tournament appearances, which has included each of the last four seasons.

Of the Crimson Tide's five NCAA Tournament appearances under Curry, four included second round exits, while the other was a first round defeat. This span also included Alabama's return to the big dance back in 2021, which was the Crimson Tide's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1999 under former head coach Rick Moody.

Alabama saw their 2025-26 season come to an end this past Monday afternoon when the Crimson Tide fell on the road at Louisville in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, 69-68. Curry's final season at Alabama included a 24-11 overall record (7-9), her third consecutive 24-win season.

The Crimson Tide will now be looking for what will be only the program's fifth head coach since the year 2000, a list of names that has included Moody, Stephany Smith, Wendell Hudson, and Curry.
