Luka Doncic continued to shine, scoring 33 points to go along with eight assists, five rebounds and four steals.
Austin Reaves also performed, finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
That said, it was Luke Kennard who played the hero.
With 2.6 seconds remaining, Marcus Smart found Luke Kennard for a wide-open, game-winning three-pointer, propelling Los Angeles to a 105-104 victory.
Immediately after, Kennard was mobbed by his teammates, as the Lakers bench went into a frenzy.
Following the game, Kennard spoke on the shot and the celebrations that ensued afterward.
“I didn’t really know what was going on. I was just screaming. I remember, I don’t know who it was, somebody picked me up.”
LeBron James also commented on the clutch shot after the game, showcasing the confidence he has in Kennard.
“When I turned and saw who had the ball, I pretty much knew it was cash,” said James.
Currently leading the league at 48.6% from three-point range, Kennard was certainly the best man for the job.
With the win, Los Angeles moved to 46-25, two and a half games ahead of fourth place (Houston Rockets) in the Western Conference.
However, after defeating the Rockets twice this week, the Lakers hold the tiebreaker against them if they were to end the season with the same record.
Looking ahead, the Lakers will have Sunday off before traveling to Detroit Monday ahead of a matchup against the Pistons.
