Clemson softball takes down Notre Dame in game 3 to claim ACC series

Clemson softball didn’t let Saturday linger.
The over bounced back on Sunday with a 4-1 win over Notre Dame, locking up another ACC series victory and continuing a strong run in conference play. Now sitting at 22-10 overall and 6-3 in the league, Clemson has made a habit of winning weekends, stacking up double-digit series wins in ACC action.

The offense didn’t overwhelm, but it delivered in key spots. Clemson struck first with Macey Cintron driving in a run early, then created separation in the third inning. After loading the bases, Marian Collins lined a ball into the outfield that brought home two runs and gave the Tigers a cushion they wouldn’t give back.
Notre Dame managed to respond in the bottom half of that inning, cutting the lead to two, but couldn’t build anything beyond that. From there, Sierra Maness took full control.
The right-hander kept the Irish lineup off balance all afternoon, limiting them to just three hits across a complete game. She didn’t need big strikeout numbers to be effective, instead working efficiently and avoiding trouble. Notre Dame had chances but couldn’t capitalize, and once Maness settled in, those opportunities disappeared. She closed the game by retiring every batter she faced over the final stretch.
Clemson added a final run in the seventh when Jamison Brockenbrough came around to score on a Mac Pavese single, giving the Tigers a little extra breathing room.

Cintron continued to trend upward at the plate, reaching base three times with a pair of hits and a walk, including a double. Pavese also finished with two hits, while Collins’ two-run swing proved to be the difference.
Clemson now turns its attention to a midweek trip to South Carolina, where the Tigers will open the rivalry series on Wednesday night.
