The World Baseball Classic has been in full swing this past week, with the knockout round games providing exciting games. That being said, last night’s Team USA’s victory over the Dominican Republic was marred by a few egregious strike calls from behind the plate, which makes this season’s advent of the ABS challenge system a welcome addition to the league. As for Twins representation, initially Joe Ryan was potentially lined up to be the starter for the gold-medal game, but was not added to the team. Byron Buxton has appeared in four games, but did not garner a hit in six at-bats.
