Florida baseball bounced back from an embarrassing weekend home series loss to the High Point Panthers with a perfect showing over the past seven days, lifting the Gators up four spots in the latest USA TODAY Baseball Coaches Poll to No. 14 overall.

It was by no means smooth sailing over the last four games, as the Florida State Seminoles hung tough in Gainesville in their 6-3 loss on Tuesday in Gainesville. Then on Friday night, Kevin O'Sullivan's team was no-hit for 8 2/3 frames and needed an extra inning to prevail over the South Carolina Gamecocks, 1-0; while Saturday's 3-0 victory was also a hard-fought affair, the Orange and Blue cruised to a mercy-rule win on Sunday, 13-3.
After seeing their 13-game winning streak snapped by High Point, the Gators have started another and have now strung five-straight victories together heading into the teeth of the SEC schedule.

The Texas Longhorns remain the top-ranked Southeastern Conference school at No. 2, with the Georgia Bulldogs (No. 5), Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 6), Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 6) and Oklahoma Sooners joining in among the rest of the top 10. Next up is Florida (No. 14), followed by the Kentucky Wildcats (No. 18), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 21), Tennessee Volunteers (No. 23) and Ole Miss Rebels (No. 24) to round out SEC teams in the top 25.
The LSU Tigers dropped out and are now the de facto No. 26 team with 70 votes, while the Vanderbilt Commodores also appeared on 21 ballots this week.
