Alabama QB Ty Simpson tied to Arizona Cardinals by Daniel Jeremiah

The Arizona Cardinals have many questions at quarterback this offseason. What will they do with Kyler Murray? Who will be their starter? Will they acquire one in free agency? Will they draft one?

With the third overall pick, it is unlikely the Cardinals would go with a quarterback, based on the talent available.

However, NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah believes one quarterback would match well with the Cardinals — Alabama QB Ty Simpson.

Alabama QB Ty Simpson, a good fit with Cardinals

"Ty Simpson I think would fit great in there," he said in a conference call with reporters last week. "We'll see where he ends up going. If he ends up going in the first round, then that would take that off the table, pick 34, that's about right where I have him, you know? So if he were there at that point in time, I think that would be a really solid pick."

Simpson started one season at Alabama and completed 64.5 percent of his passes, passing for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Simpson only made 15 career starts at Alabama, so he is inexperienced as a starter. He is 6-2 and 208 pounds, so he has a lean frame for his height.

The Cardinals will be able to watch Simpson in action at the NFL combine in Indianapolis this week. He has decided he will throw at the combine.
