Archbishop Wood grad Kyle Pitts gets franchise tagged by Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts, the veteran NFL tight end who graduated from Archbishop Wood, has been franchise-tagged by the Atlanta Falcons. That means he'll be under contract for 2026, although Pitts can be traded.

Pitts, who grew up in Abington, is 25 years old. He had 1,026 yards receiving as a rookie in 2021. He had 928 yards receiving last season on 88 receptions.

Pitts, who's 6-foot-6, 250 pounds, ran a 4.4 at the NFL Combine in 2021 and has been an NFL matchup nightmare, playing all five of his seasons with the Falcons after being drafted fourth overall out of the University of Florida.

He made the Pro Bowl in 2021, his rookie season.
