Bears skid hits 3 with loss to Delaware

· Yahoo Sports

SPRINGFIELD–On a day where former Missouri State basketball standouts, Kyle Weems and Alize Johnson, were inducted into the Missouri State Hall of Fame, the Bears lost their third game in-a-row, after falling to the Delaware Blue Hens, 76-67.

Kobi Williams’ game-high 25 points wasn’t enough to pull MSU through a back-and-forth battle, which had the Bears trailing as close as 51-50 with 10:25 to play in the second half, but that’s as close as Cuonzo Martin’s team cut into the Blue Hens edge.

Keith Palek III, Michael Osei-Bonsu, and Trey Williams were the Bears other starters to score in double figures, combining for 34 points, but no one could come up clutch when the team needed it most.

This latest loss for Martin’s men is an eyebrow raiser. When these two teams played nearly two months ago, Missouri State won by 18 points, on the road. So, to lose by 9 points, at home, to a team they already blew out, and was coming off a road game in Florida, probably doesn’t make Bears fans too content with the current state of things.

With an overall record of just 13-12, and 7-7 in Conference USA, the men’s team isn’t exactly giving patrons much to cheer about.
